Moreena H. Hashim (she/her) is a visual artist, storyteller, and media professional based in the NJ-NYC area with over five years of experience in film, television, and digital content production. Hailing from the Washington, DC metropolitan area and a graduate of Montclair State University with a degree in Filmmaking and Sociology, Moreena has contributed her creative talents to nonprofits, independent artists, and major studio productions, earning credits on Power Book III: Raising Kanan (Starz), The Equalizer (NBC), and SMILE (Paramount).

In 2024, Moreena was a grant recipient of the Sakia Gunn Legacy Film Project through the Newark LGBTQ Film Festival, where she wrote, directed, and produced her short film Suppress, which premiered at the festival’s second annual event. Her work is deeply rooted in centering Black and Queer communities, using media as a tool for preservation, representation, and storytelling.

With a strong foundation in media management, post-production workflows, and archival preservation, Moreena excels in content organization, data management, and creative coordination. As she continues to develop her voice as a screenwriter and filmmaker, she is also expanding her expertise in Post Production and Media Archival Preservation. Passionate about preserving and amplifying stories that reflect diverse experiences, she is eager to bring her organizational skills, adaptability, and creative insight to dynamic teams that value innovative storytelling and impactful media distribution.

When she’s not immersed in creative projects, Moreena enjoys exploring nature and spending time with her pet turtle, Olie.
